Why Delays Have Been Happening and How We’re Moving Forward
A few weeks ago, while I was still recovering from pelvic surgery, I got an urgent call from my team. The news wasn’t good — delays were coming down the line, and they were out of our hands. Fabric and foam shipments were held up, and without them, production would slow to a crawl. Needless to say, we had to do some serious scrambling to figure out how to move forward.
The truth is, our suppliers have been dealing with challenges of their own, and when that happens, it trickles right down to us. It’s frustrating, and I know it’s frustrating for you too when your cushion doesn’t arrive as quickly as it should. Honestly, these delays have been frustrating for us as well — not only as a small business trying to keep up, but as people who live with pelvic pain every day. Yes, we feel it too!
When it comes to our materials, there’s no compromising with us. We’ve been contacted by other vendors, but time and again we’ve been disappointed by the integrity of what they offered. We refuse to cut corners, because your comfort and trust mean more than just rushing a shipment.
Here’s what we’re doing to keep things moving in the right direction:
Working with backup suppliers so if one runs behind, we’ve got another ready to go.
Increasing our fabric and foam for that “just in case” event instead of only ordering what’s needed in the moment. This way production doesn’t stop while we wait.
Being upfront with customers if an order looks like it’ll take longer, instead of waiting until after a delay happens.
Expediting shipping on any order affected by supply issues so that once it’s ready, it’s on its way to you fast.
This whole experience has been a learning curve, but it’s also making us stronger. Our goal is simple: when you order a SunCloud® cushion, you should feel confident it will show up on time and ready to bring you the comfort you’ve been waiting for.
